Fifi Colston
World Of Wearable Arts Illustrated Artist Talk

Fifi Colston is a multiple award winning designer in the internationally acclaimed World of WearableArt Show, hosted in Wellington, New Zealand. In 2001-2002 she lived and worked in Bristol and volunteered at the Bristol Scrap Store, along with making connections with local artists and schools. Since returning to New Zealand, she has been busy for the past 23 years as an award-winning junior fiction writer and children’s book illustrator of more than 50 published titles for trade and education. She also works in the TV, film and theatre industry making costume and props both to camera and behind the scenes. Fifi is very active visiting schools and community groups, inspiring budding artists and writers through workshops in creative process and she is utterly delighted to revisit Bristol and share her work with you, in particular her 30th finalist piece in this year’s World of WearableArt ‘Rise’ Award Show.
Church Road Lantern Parade and Heart of BS13
Lamplighter Arts Cic have been awarded Bristol City Council's Imagination funding for the financial years 24-25 & 25-26. This is to develop both Church Road Lantern Parade and Heart of BS13 light events. We will be lighting up the community garden and the roundhouse at Heart of BS13 in Hartcliffe on 5th November for their bonfire celebrations and Church Road Lantern Parade returns to BS5 on Saturday 6th December! Glastonbury Festival Greenfields Opening Ceremony
LAMPLIGHTER ARTS CIC were delighted to be funded as part of Glastonbury Festival Diversity & Inclusion Project 2024 & 2025.
The project incorporated the 2023 Govandi Arts Festival/Church Road Lantern Parade as one of the flagship projects celebrating 75 years of India. We were really delighted to welcome Govandi Arts Festival Curator Natasha Sharma from Mumbai to our on site festival team' Through this project we created lanterns with Avon Indian Association, Bristol Refugee Arts Collective and young artists from both City Academy & City of Bristol College English Learners who joined us for work experience, creating a multiple illuminated artworks to lead the Opening Ceremony for the 2024 &2025 events in the Greenfields.
Bump In The Night
Celebrated Bristols historical and cultural heritage through a spectacular lantern parade on Sunday October 30th 2022. It was delivered as one of the activities under the City Centre and High Streets Recovery and Renewal programme, funded by Bristol City Council and the West of England Combined Authority’s Love our High Street project.
Govandi Arts Festival
Lamplighter Arts CIC was delighted to be working alongside Community Design Agency and Streets Reimagined to share their experience in creating art alongside communities and to support the development of a lantern parade in Govandi, Mumbai, India as a major feature of the first Govandi Arts Festival. This project is part of the British Council UK India Together season of Culture.
